Sometimes, the most unforgettable photo sessions are the ones where nothing goes as planned, but everything falls into place. Natasha and Justin’s maternity session was one of those moments that reminded me how unpredictable and beautiful life can be—just like parenthood itself.

The original plan was to meet at Bowditch Point Park for a dreamy maternity shoot. But Florida weather had other ideas. The skies opened up with intense rain, lightning, and thunder, creating a scene that was anything but serene. On top of that, the mosquitos seemed to be out in full force, ready to join the chaos. To make matters even more stressful, my phone died. Luckily, I was with my mom and her husband, who were visiting, so I borrowed her phone to coordinate with Natasha.

I felt such a sense of responsibility and empathy. I remembered what it was like to be pregnant—the excitement, the nerves, and how every little thing feels magnified. Natasha had gone the extra mile, even getting her makeup done for the session, and I didn’t want the weather to ruin this special moment for her and Justin.

We made a quick stop at a Publix parking lot, and I called Natasha to brainstorm a Plan B. Bunche Beach wasn’t far, and I suggested we head there to wait out the storm. Natasha, ever the trooper, agreed. Despite the overcast skies, we decided to give it a shot.

And wouldn’t you know it? The rain stopped. The clouds parted. The golden sun broke through just in time, casting light over the beach. The sunset was nothing short of perfect—like it was meant to shine.

Natasha and Justin were absolute naturals in front of the camera, radiating love and excitement for the new chapter they’re about to begin. The beach, still damp from the rain, glistened in the sunlight, creating the most magical backdrop. Watching the two of them share this moment, knowing how much it meant to them, was everything I hoped for.

This session is a reminder of how life’s curveballs can lead to the most unexpected blessings. From the stormy skies to the golden sunset, it felt like nature itself was celebrating Natasha and Justin’s journey to parenthood.
