When to book your wedding vendors: A stress-free guide
Whether you’re newly engaged or just daydreaming about your future wedding, there’s something couples don’t always realize… photographers and wedding vendors book up fast. Like, really fast.
If you’ve been eyeing a vendor — especially a photographer (hi, it’s me 👋🏼) — and thinking, “We love them, we’ll reach out later,” here’s your gentle nudge: don’t wait too long. Because, If we’re someone you’re excited about… we feel the same way about you!!!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received the sweetest message from a couple, only to check the calendar and realize I’m already booked for their date. And that genuinely breaks my heart a little — because I don’t just want to work with anyone. I want to work with you.
We want to hear about your love story.
I want to see the florals you’re dreaming up. I want to capture your moments — the real ones, the quiet ones, the ones you’ll show your grandkids. And to do that, we need to connect early.
Here’s a Quick Guide: When to Reach Out to Your Vendors
Whether you’re planning a big wedding or something more intimate, here’s a general timeline to help you get ahead:
12–18 months out:
- Venue (secures your date)
- Photographer + videographer
- Wedding planner or coordinator
- Start Wedding Dress Shopping
9–12 months out:
- Florist
- DJ or band
- Hair & makeup artists
- Catering
- Rentals (tables, chairs, lounge areas)
6–9 months out:
- Cake + dessert vendors
- Officiant
- Transportation
- Stationery (save the dates & invites)
3–6 months out:
- Finalize outfits + accessories
- Hotel blocks
- Wedding bands
- Bonus vendors (photo booths, food trucks, live painters, etc.)
The sooner you reach out, the more likely we are to be available — and the better we can plan together.
Let’s Make It Happen
There’s no pressure to have every detail figured out when you inquire. We can take our time, chat through the vision, and build something beautiful together. But securing your date early gives us the chance to do that without the stress of wondering if it’s still open.
So if you’ve been saving posts, following along on Instagram, or feeling that little “this might be the one” nudge — this is your sign to send the message.
Because I would love to be there, camera in hand, cheering you on as you walk into forever.
Bonus Tip: If you’re planning a wedding in Florida (like Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Tampa, or beyond), remember that peak season fills up quickly due to the beautiful winter and spring weather. Start inquiries early to get your first-choice team!
